According to statistics, Chinese import zircon sand in the first quarter of 2011 is nearly 182,000 tons, with year-on-year growth of 5.2%, wherein the import zircon sand in March is nearly 56,000 tons with month-to-month fall of 12.5% and annulus growth of 27.3% , and Australian zircon sand accounts for 55.4% of import volume.
The data of Chinese zircon sand import in the first quarter of 2011 is as follows: 82,000 tons in January, nearly 44,000 tons in February and nearly 56,000 tons in March, wherein the import quantity in February is relatively small because many enterprises stopped production in the spring festival and have seldom demand on zircon sand, while the quantity demand of domestic market on import zircon sand in March increases with the reduction of inventory after the holiday.
